Exhaust hood or cooker hoods in the kitchen:
A hood creates a better indoor environment, and this applies not only in the kitchen, but affects the entire dwelling.
When the food is cooking in the kitchen, the smell can often be traced throughout the house. Strong cooking fumes from e.g. curry or hamburgers tends to hang in the air for several days. For visitors, it may be easy to guess what the menu has been a day or two earlier. With a good range hood, this problem can almost be eliminated.
Range hood / extractor hood has more tasks than simply eliminating the smell of food in the house. Cooking fumes contains fat, which intend to be in a layer on surfaces in the kitchen, and it obviously requires regular cleaning. The cooking fumes will be collected in the filter which is mounted in the cooker hood or extractor hood. Fat particles are sucked through the filter, which cools the air, so the fat is in the filter. A grease trap is made of metal, because it provides an effective cooling air flow.
So during cooking is the kitchen as a magnet that attracts fat, moisture and cooking fumes. With a good hood these three inconveniences are minimized significantly.
Tips:
To obtain the best effect of a range hood or a cooker hood it is recommended to turn on low speed for extraction before cooking begins. Then a vacuum in the kitchen most effectively sucks cooking fumes out. To offset the negative pressure, there must be a supply of fresh air from a valve or a door ajar. An open window can destroy air circulation in the room.
If ventilation is not working properly, it may be due to several factors, and a control can be achieved by placing a hand on the filter, which will feel cold.
When dinner is finished, it is important to let exhaust ventilation run on low speed for approx. 15 minutes.
It is not necessary to use the high speeds as a hood / cooker hood has, in connection with cooking. Low speed covers plenty of the normal requirements. The high speed should only be used for powerful steam and smoke in the kitchen.
- - A hood with charcoal filter may have changed the filter.
- - Stripping pipe has some cracks that limit exhaust ventilation.
- - Filter needs to be cleaned.
- - Roof cap is too small.
